You just got three-hundred thousand dollars. Got wicked lucky on a scratch ticket. Second grandfather twice removed entitled you to the money in his will. Find it with a metal detector on the beach. I dunno. But what I do know is that you need a supercar. Which one?
I think there’s a strong case for the GT2 RS. The swan song of the 997 911 (ignoring the half-million dollar 4.0), this carbon-hooded machine aggressively put out 611 hp from some beasty turbos. Ya, it’s extremely fast, and scary, and limited-edition-ey. But something else:
The GT2 RS is the last manual Porsche supercar ever made.
Or pretty likely, all considered. It is the newest truly old-school high-performance car, and that is something to be celebrated. And for $300K, I don’t think anything else could beat that.
But that’s me, what would you get with $300k?

911 Turbo S, fully optioned (someone price check that for me). A supercar that I can daily is a win in my book

Crap. This is tough. Got it narrowed down to 3. Either a Corvette Z06, a V12 Vantage, or an S65 AMG. I really can’t decide between those 3. Is it my only car? If so, AMG. If not, Corvette. Or Aston.

god dam it. not enough for a LFA
![]() 09/26/2015 at 23:42 |

Was going to post a GT3 RS 4.0 but then saw it was $500,000 :(
Then looked for an LFA but then it was ~$80,000 over budget :(
I guess I’d have a McLaren MP4-12c in Black Fire then.

Ford GT, because it’s design perfection.

$180k! Wow did those depreciate. Still within budget you could do this though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/McLaren-Ot…

Yep, the 650s certainly ruined the 12c’s value. The 650s would be faster but I’d rather have the 12c since I like its front facia better. I’m sure the extra money could be sent to MSO for some fun tweaks to the 12c.

Lexus LFA. I’m gonna do LFA things.

Easy. McLaren 650S Spider .

That color combo is amazing
![]() 09/26/2015 at 23:51 |

Is that faster than the GT2 RS you think? That’d actually be a really good performance match up.
![]() 09/26/2015 at 23:51 |

612 Scaglietti, loaded, low miles, stick - put the rest in a retirement fund.
![]() 09/26/2015 at 23:52 |

Does faster matter?

Mosler MT900. About somewhere over $200,000 but can be optioned just under $300,000.
600 hp LS7-powered sequential-transmission mid-engine car that will rip Porsches, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis a new one on track? Hell yes, and there’s only about 35 or so roads cars were made so they’re quite rare!

Could i get 3 7s and truck/trailer?
![]() 09/26/2015 at 23:53 |

Can’t believe someone custom ordered this and then sold it just 3,000 miles later, like returning an ugly Christmas sweater or something.
Rich people life...

Not sure. Good question thought.

One car only!

Not always, but in very performance oriented cars like these I’d say so.

I’d go Full-On 90’s :
Either a Diablo VT Roadster:
http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/de…
Or a 512 TR (plus this one has a Tubi exhaust, so it must sound amazing) :
http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/de…
Both of these will make you feel (and look) like a millionaire, and I guarantee are more fun to drive than a Huracan or a 458 Italia.

Ford GT.

HMMmmmmm. For irresponsible, not entirely explainable reasons, a Jaguar XJ220.

Would be a tough choice between this,
This,
Or this.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:09 |

I’m stunned that’s so cheap, especially for such a special model. I assumed those went for well over half a million.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:09 |
|
If we’re going this route I’d go Ultima GTR with all the fixin’s.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:11 |
|
That’s special with no stripes!
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:12 |

Not sure if you could get a manual for under $300k . . . why not a 599?
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:13 |

Could get the first two for the price of the third haha.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:20 |

But it’s in budget.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:20 |

Countach or M1.

I’m a simple man, but a simple man with a family and dogs I’ll need to take places.
4 Charger Hellcats and a gas card
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:23 |

And if you are limiting this to new cars only, I think my choice is obvious.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:24 |

Diablo VT ($239,000) please and thank you
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:30 |

Mustang GT350R
And the options list will include A/C and a radio. That’s it, though; this thing has been my spirit car ever since I first drove it in Forza 6 (and MAN I’d love to be out of the greys by now).
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:35 |

I keep my 240Z and buy a $30k OS Giken DOHC motor and whatever upgrades I can that don’t hurt the car. Basically building a 432R Fairlady. The Giken motor is like the original only better in several ways, like updated materials.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:38 |

True, but a Mosler might actually turn more heads than a Ultima.
Because Super GT race car for the road.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:46 |
|
Fun will always trump performance, for me. A Veyron might wipe the floor with most other cars, but I wouldn’t be all that interested in driving one. They’re just too big.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 00:55 |
|
Because Britcar for the road. Eh, doesn’t quite have the same ring.
I did find this while Googling though. So much want.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 01:04 |

996 911 GT3 because stick shift and Porsche.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 01:38 |

Honestly, I’d buy a C6 Z06 and troll the shit out of the supercar crowd at trackdays. Forced to buy something with a little more swag, I’d have an Audi R8.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 01:51 |
|
Yeah, think a 6M 612 under 200K is doable. If only I had a need for a car. Living in the city is good, but bad for a gearhead.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 02:03 |

Some do. One I found was 400k, another was sold at auction for 230k in 2012

You’re buying a supercar: irresponsible, not entirely explainable reasons are the ONLY good reasons.

Lambo Huracan - black please
![]() 09/27/2015 at 03:12 |

458, pretty sure Tavarish found one for less than 300k.

Easy. Old Zonda.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 04:37 |

Aston Martin V12 Vantage , but not a brand new one, because there’s a fairly vital option missing on the most recent models.
I’ll use the remaining £117,728 to keep up with maintenance and fuel.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 05:01 |
|
i'll take a GT2 Rs, but I'll take mine flash-painted (or wrapped) metallic Deep Amethyst Purple, with silver wheels, and no flashy decals. the car, plus the custom work should be around a $280K mark
![]() 09/27/2015 at 06:59 |

SL65 AMG Black Series + $100k left over to modify it to make it as fast as it looks.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 11:18 |
|
Because it certainly isn’t as fast it it looks when stock :D
![]() 09/27/2015 at 11:27 |
|
Can you get one for under $300k? That’d be awesome if you could.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 11:30 |
|
The problem isn’t power, it just can’t put any of it to the ground. $100k for weight reduction, carbon ceramic brakes, adjustable suspension, and lots of very sticky tires.
![]() 09/27/2015 at 12:45 |
|
Yeah, one of the shitty old slow ones. Then you’d have to import it.

Brand new car? Easy: Viper GTS and pocket the rest. Any car? 2WD Diablo. Their values have shot up recently, but one for $200k - $300k shouldn’t be too hard to find still.
